You might be joking, nomoss, but when my eldest was 1-2 he had a friend whose mother got a marrow bone from the butcher and the little lad sat there in his pram gnashing away.

Sophie the Giraffe was around when I was a little boy ..... We normally gave the hard end of a baguette to the teething baby.

Yes the Quignon was what we used too.

Cannot remember using anything else. And the kids loved it.

My mother used to bake slices of stale bread, to crush and make into breadcrumbs. But sometimes she would give us one of the pieces of baked bread to chew on as a rusk . Yummm.

The fame of Sophie the giraffe has spread; I saw them on sale in John Lewis recently...
