flooring work

Hi all,
We are looking to move to the morzine area and the fact is work. I'm a floor/carpet fitter. What keen of money can I expect to earn and who easy is it to find the work. I'm self employed at the moment supplying and fitting in the UK.
Any help would be great.
Thanks.

Re: flooring work

Hi Sparks

The French really don't do carpets. They mostly prefer tiles and wood/parquet stuff. If you can do tiling you might make a living out of it but there are plenty of "carrelagistes" so you will have to market yourself aggressively

Re: flooring work

It is a while since we were there, but we used to have ski holidays in Avoriaz and there were often carpets in the appts we stayed in.

No idea what you would earn. You need to do your research as artisans pay a lot to the government, so if you are trading legally, you will find that you and your competitors will have to charge quite a lot for your services....... as was always the case.

Research this well, must be loads of info on french sites.
