Macron the moderniser?

The fact that an opinion has been widely held is no evidence whatever that it is not utterly absurd; indeed in view of the silliness of the majority of mankind, a widespread belief is more likely to be foolish than sensible.

Re: Macron the moderniser?

Well, someone has to crack the undemocratic power held by the unions which is what the strike was all about.
In the last union rep elections the CGT lost its position as majority to the more moderate CFDT and is now desperately trying to get back its blown prestige. To do this, it is trying to get students to join in the strikes, as well as the usual suspects of fonctionnaires. The latter are not, by the way, concerned by the changes to the code de travail, so they just want a paid day off!
Just remember that pro-union legislation which has crippled. FRance for so many years is just what Corbyn is proposing for the UK. Cry the Beloved Country!
It will be the railways on strike next.

Re: Macron the moderniser?

It would appear that most of the French realise that a LOT of change has to take place and are all agreed.

But TOMORROW!

John.

Never forget that you are unique, just like everyone else.
