French enjoy English food

This made me smile - anyone else read this ?

So our English cheeses and pub grub type food is enjoyed by the educated French........

Yes, indeed, saw the headline, though I did not read the full article.  Possibly a little bit of the "being a cut above"?? but yes, sometimes even I would appreciate a nice apple crumble as mother used to make ... love French food, but some really English (properly done) cooking can be excellent.  Will be interesting to see how long it survives!

The used to like my english-style homemade bread. Made from strong english/canadian flour.
Quite different from their baguettes.

All of the French people we meet in London, j'adore our pubs and food, crumble is a popular PhD with them. I even taught one French girl how to make it.
