Almost quiet again

Well, the dragons have all but finished churning across the land, massive six or eight eyes standing out sharply in the dusk, spitting out their rich harvest into their shepherding bennes and shiting the soil out behind them.
And the factory still pushes out its steam as it boils and digests the hundreds of tons of sweetness dumped in their yard.
And the tractors race back and forth with trailers filled with white, steaming waste to feed to the ever hungry stock to enrich their boring diets.
Slowly, slowly, slowly the land goes quiet for a short sleep after the ploughs and cutters and seeders have abused it again, for gain, to fulfil the bloated demands of an uneven world.
Will the land ever cry ‘enough’ and stop producing, stop being abused year on year until it is respected?
Will we ever keep working the land like an indentured whore until she rises up and strikes us down?

I wonder.
Ticking over, just about.
